Gap maternity dress re-purpose project #1

Maternity dress thrift find!

While thrift shopping with my partner in crime and all else, my mom, Coleen, I found a Gap maternity dress that was reduced to 1/2 price.  The fabric was adorable and there was so much of it, I hope to get a couple of big projects and a small project or three out of it.  For my first project, I had in mind to re-purpose the back of the dress into an apron.  I used fabric scraps from a pair of cargo pants and I also used the lining material that came with the dress to fashion pockets and a waist band.  I think it turned out pretty cute, you can judge yourself from the pictures below........

If you notice, the only picture of me is one taken last summer after I did my hair and put on a little makeup.....am I the only one who gets so busy in the morning that I find myself sewing in my p.j.'s late into the night? I thought so, I knew there were others out there like me!  Some day I will do my hair and make up, drop a few pounds, put on a pair of spanx under my clothes, high heels too so I look sexy, and model some of my wares.....just not today.

  1. You are not alone in the p.j. sewing department. If I get a few days off, you can find me unshowered, hardly eating, and totally absorbed in my projects. I hope to see more of your projects in the future. Check out my giveaway on www.chicenvelopements.wordpress.com. It ends tonight at 5 and I'll announce my next giveaway, All you have to do to be entered is become a follower and leave a comment.
