If you are creative and like to sew, you may enjoy this blog.

My niece (9yrs) and my daughter (19yrs) have been baby-doll lovers since before they could walk.  My daughter still has her baby-dolls, not the porcelain kind that you put on the shelves, the playing house, dragging everywhere, crying, "mama" kind of baby-doll.

Before (a purse)

I have loved the drawstring bags that convert into a baby bassinet since I was a little girl.  I think that they are the perfect little gift for the little baby-doll lovers in our lives.   I printed this pattern from Daisy Design Shops on, which is one of my favorite go to sites for knit and crochet patterns and I am tweaking the patterns to customize it.  I am still in the process of adding final touches, but I didn't get much of a chance to blog today, so I am going to post photos of the basic finished product.  I also need to crochet a blanket and  small pillow.  I will post the embellished version tomorrow! The small hat on the side is a crocheted baby hat.

Boho Messenger Bag

I finished the bag, it turned out better than I hoped! I top-stitched seams and hand-sewed the liner inside.  The two front pockets and back pockets are functional.  I am so happy with the results! Would love to hear your comments!
I would love to see photos of your favorite sewn, crocheted, knit, re-purposed, up-style project or items. Maybe we can swap a little creativity and stir up our own ideas! Have an image in mind? Click on the enter linky link and it will instruct you on posting the photo. I can't wait to see them!
nter> I invite any designers and sewers to check out this blog through my linky link. Very creative stuff!

These are three of my many nephews and nieces, these happened to spend the night with me last night.  They are the co-creators of Brownie Boyz!

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

I have, I think, almost 30 nieces and nephews.  Tonight, three of my little sister's Jessica's boys, Reese, Cole and Hayden, wanted to spend the night.  We played with the cats and my dog, bounced my exercise ball all over the house (the most use it's gotten since I purchased it at a garage sale last summer!), before we laid down and I read a story, we made up a recipe for brownie cookies that turned out delicious! Here is the recipe:

Brownie Boyz
1 box of brownie mix
1 pkg cream cheese
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. olive oil
raw sugar or powdered sugar (we liked the raw sugar sprinkled on before baking)

pre-heat the oven to 350, I like to bake cookies a little longer at a lower temp.

Mix all of the ingredients except the sugar in a mixing bowl until well incorporated.  Drop spoonfuls of mix onto cookie sheet, they bake in what ever form they are placed on the pan.  I tried pressing them with a fork, but they are to gooey.  If the form is important, a pastry bake would work fine.  If you use raw sugar, sprinkle on raw cookies prior to baking.  If you use powdered sugar, shake onto cookies immediately after baking.  Cookies will bake in 8-10 minutes, when pressed gently, they should spring back.  Upon removing them from the oven, remove from the sheet to prevent further baking.

The cookies are moist and delicious inside, like brownie bites!  We hope you enjoy them, Reese, Cole, Hayden and their favorite aunt, Tobe'

This is my first blog! I am so excited to read the blogs that I follow and I hope you all enjoy mine the same.  I am going to start with a re-purposing project that I have been obsessing about since last summer.  I visited a farmer's market in Encinitas in August and I notices an attractive woman wearing hippy-chic clothing.  She wore a very stylish bag on her hip that I can not get off my mind! So I purchased a couple of pairs of cargo pants at my local Goodwill (they were half price, coming to a whopping $2.75 each), and I am hoping to get two hip backs and a utility tote bag with a little creative genius.  I will post the results and instructions hopefully tomorrow!
